So many ideas to share but so little time!

So many ideas to share but so little time!

When I created the new edition of Preparing for Birth: Mothers, I started to see the possibilities of creating new posters and teaching aids to support your work (the work of midwives, lactation consultants, childbirth educators, doulas and other maternity health professionals).

Within Preparing for Birth Mothers, there are around 165 original full-colour images. I envisaged new posters on pregnancy, birth and breastfeeding. From there, I wanted to plan to create games and new teaching strategies using the new images.

I don’t know about you, but I am tired of the same old charts and teaching aids on the market. They are dated and, in some cases, not very accurate.

So far, I’ve published
Four new charts on Interventions in labour
A supply and demand chart (breastfeeding)
Breastfeeding Positions Chart
– Positions charts for the first stage and one for the second stage
Positions for softening the breast
– My favourite is the Baby Poo and Wee Chart

My most significant achievement regarding charts is that I’ve revamped the Desk set range of charts (A4 size) – which I use in my midwifery clinic all the time—a great tool when supporting women and their families to make informed decisions. I’m holding each of these in this photo.

I have many more charts ready for printing. But I’d love to hear from you. What charts or teaching aids would you like to be made or updated?
