Subtitled “An invitation to intimacy”, this film (formerly titled The Psychology of Birth) explores the potential impact of birth on the baby. It also explores how this may set up patterns of behaviour that continue into adulthood. Additionally, it examines the awareness of babies at birth the influence of the immediate environment. This highlights the importance of direct support from significant others. It shows adults remembering their births, young children revealing the events they experienced as they were born. Also, this includes comments from several experts, including Dr David Chamberlain, explaining what is known about the significance of imprinted behaviours.
Includes a bonus interview with Dr Michel Odent (23 minutes).
Versions with subtitles in Danish and Norwegian are also on the disk.
